Topic: First-Hand Experience: How to Start a Career in Cybersecurity and Data Privacy
Date of Webinar: 28th May, 2021
Time and Location: 11:30 AM CET/3:00 PM IST
My name is Roland Costea, and I am working as Chief Security Officer at SAP. Before that, I have spent years working for Microsoft, IBM, Genpact, Cognizant, and Accenture as a Privacy & Security Director. Here I created hundreds of integrated security & privacy programs for top organizations in the world, and I have decided to put all my experience together and create some complete programs to show how to actually start a career in cybersecurity and/or data privacy and also how to make privacy operational with technology. I drove security and privacy teams and business units through real success, advised more than 200 top clients (Forbes 500) from all around the world, I have participated in more than 100 interviews as a candidate, and I have interviewed and hired more than 100 talents.
Every IT position is also a cybersecurity position now. Every IT worker or technology worker needs to protect and defend apps, data, devices, infrastructure, and people. It’s a full-on war for cyber-privacy talent. This webinar is UNIQUE because you will not find a pure theory about what to do and how to learn. It starts with my life story – how I actually did it, what motivated me, and where I went wrong. I will also discuss the many myths related to your career development, how to succeed in a corporate environment, how to get a better salary or promotion, how HR thinks, and what you should focus on.
- How companies choose you
- How important creativity is in your resume
- Diversification should be your No.1 priority
- How to acquire a higher role or salary increase
- The interview process – key takeaways
- How much time to spend in a company before moving out
