Abstract:
Online learning, which has always been the torch bearer for the democratization of education, is not just a method, but an innate tool that sweeps away all barriers to learning and embraces the disenfranchised: those who in the most unfortunate of circumstances have been denied access to mainstream education. It is no exaggeration therefore to say that online or remote learning has been the only light in the harsh period of the COVID-19 pandemic. It has emerged as the saviour, metaphorically speaking, in a world mummified by a virus, so potent, so invisible and so dastardly lethal, that it has held man and country at ransom – like never before. The world may have been shut down but the shutters on teaching and learning were not pulled down only because of online learning.
The ecosystem of online learning has also seen unprecedented changes with the emergence of the fourth industrial revolution and Industry 4.0. This however has been further exacerbated with the COVID- 19 induced pandemic, which has served as a catalyst to thrust online learning to the forefront of teaching and learning. It has now become the new norm and the new future for teaching and learning.
In this webinar we will examine the benefits of online learning and its impact on students in a technology mediated environment.

- What are the benefits of online learning?
